Scrumptious! Home style foods made with care and served with a smile. This restaurant is worth a drive, if you don’t live locally. It is housed in a historic building/area and the entire vibe reflects it. Specifically, we really enjoyed the Turkey Melt and the Dipper. Turkey Melt was generously portioned with juicy turkey. (Check out that slice of tomato!). The dipper was perfectly oozing cheese, without being too much. Served with a nice rye. Chips were freshly made and perfectly seasoned. My shining star? The Mushroom Barley soup! Homemade and so comforting. Freshly brewed iced tea too:) Our server, LT, made our experience so enjoyable and fun. She is efficient and yet still takes time with each table. Ask for her when you go. Enjoy this gem!
Tried the Jersey Melt and must say that it ranks as the best pork roll sandwich that I ever ate. Kudos to the chef for treating the pork roll with the respect that it commands. Thin layers of perfectly grilled, crispy, pork roll are heaped high with just the right amount of white American cheese interspersed throughout and served on a fresh warmed brioche bun. An absolute masterpiece and must try for any Taylor Ham/Pork Roll lover. It was served with fresh hot, tasty french fries. Very nice, quaint old luncheonette, wide variety of menu choices which I hope to try someday if I can get past their unforgettable pork roll melt.
Great little cafe in Barnegat. Had a late breakfast, coffee was great and eggs benedict was perfectly cooked with breakfast potatoes. Coming off LBI welcomed the off-Island prices too. Street parking or lot across the street.
Do not let that massive chunk of lettuce and tomato fool you, the star of this epic burger was the perfectly cooked half-pound Angus beef patty!DISCLAIMER: I eat a lot of burgers. And I do mean a LOT of burgers. Like a Ron Swanson amount of burgers. This was easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in years. No exaggeration. The brioche bun was not too overpowering, the bacon was well done, and the beef patty was just spectacular.Cooked absolutely to perfection just as I ordered. I was blown away.The fries were fresh and hot and a great portion. Just, wow. Absolutely love this place! Wonderful, thoughtful decor, incredibly clean, great friendly service, decent prices.We will absolutely be back!
Chicken fried steak, excellent and the sausage gravy was creamy plus sage forward. Reminds me of a PA dinner with huge portions, ice parlor and quick service. Parking was easy and folks come and go quick but I can imagine gets busy wait. We came for a Sunday brunch but I heard dinners are really good too.
